DO WE NEED TO OWN AN INSTRUMENT?

Yes! Students must have a good quality instrument at home as practice is a must for progress and motivation. Imagine being interested in basketball and wanting to shoot hoops but you have a leaky ball or the hoop is too high for you. Now imagine trying to practice on a piano that is out of tune or doesn't have all the keys you need. Poor equipment and bad setup will hinder you, whereas the proper conditions will allow you to flourish.

HOW DO WE OBTAIN A QUALITY PIANO?

There are options for getting a good piano at an affordable price. Please ask me and we can discuss at the consultation!

IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ACOUSTIC PIANOS AND DIGITALS?

There are many differences, including pedals, quality of sound, touch of the keys, and full vs. shorter keyboards. I'm happy to discuss these differences with you in a consultation and allow you to experience them yourself.

DO I NEED TO PRACTICE?

Yes. Without practice, you cannot progress. Practice allows you to gain greater dexterity, speed, and coordination.

The amount of practice depends on the individual - age, goals, and focus. Quality practice time wins over quantity.

HOW DO WE START?

You can schedule a consultation. It is a one-time meeting where we will discuss goals, answer questions, and have a mini lesson. Consultations are 45 minutes.

WHAT AGES DO YOU TEACH?

I teach nearly all ages. Very young children are evaluated on a case by case basis. Older children, teens, and adults are very welcome.
